Our Veterinary Care & Services

Annual Wellness Exams

Our veterinarians recommend regular wellness exams for the same reason your physician and dentist recommend them. Wellness exams are the best way to prevent or detect disease early before it becomes a serious health condition. Each examination will vary slightly depending on the species, age, and health needs of your pet. Our wellness exams include a comprehensive physical and dental exam, in-depth screenings for diseases like heartworm and intestinal parasites, annual vaccinations, and food and nutritional recommendations.

Puppy and Kitten Care

Congratulations on your new companion! Having your new pet examined is important and should be done within a few days of bringing them home. On their first visit, your veterinarian will thoroughly examine your puppy or kitten to identify any potential health problems early on. Also, the doctor will answer any questions about caring for your pet. Our puppy and kitten exams include a thorough physical and dental exam, flea and tick control, intestinal parasite testing, and vaccinations.

Senior Pet Care

Keeping a watchful eye on your pet when they reach their senior years is very important. Due to the variety of conditions and diseases that affect older pets, our veterinarians recommend more frequent wellness examinations for senior pets. Our veterinarians and highly trained veterinary staff can help you to monitor and treat your senior pet, if any health concerns arise. Senior pet wellness exams include a thorough physical and dental exam, appropriate diagnostic tests, and a review of your pet’s diet and medication protocol.

Pet Dental Care

Having your pet checked regularly for signs of dental disease is very important. Dental disease does not just affect the mouth. Bacteria and oral inflammation can lead to heart, kidney, and liver disease. We recommend regular dental exams and teeth cleanings to keep your pet's teeth clean and healthy. Dental services offered at Brookhollow include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and oral surgery. During the months of February and August, we offer $20.00 off Dental Cleanings to help promote pet dental awareness.

Surgical Care

At Brookhollow, our state-of-the-art surgical suite is designed to provide a host of modern surgical options including spays, neuters, and other common surgical procedures. Our surgical team has advanced training and years of experience in orthopedic, soft tissue, routine, and elective surgeries. Surgical procedures are scheduled Monday through Saturday. To learn more about surgery at Brookhollow, please contact our clinic staff at (903) 723-0840.

Microchipping

Microchipping is a minor and painless procedure that implants a tiny chip between your pet’s shoulder blades. Each microchip is encoded with your contact information and other important information about your cat or dog. Microchipping is available during any routine office visit. The procedure is very simple, and anesthetic is not required. Protect your pet with permanent microchip identification. Unlike a collar with id tags, a microchip can never be removed or lost!

In-House Lab Testing

Our in-house laboratory and diagnostic capabilities allow us to have results to many tests in a short period of time. Our clinic is equipped to perform an extensive range of diagnostic tests including complete blood counts and chemistry analysis, heartworm testing, tick-borne disease testing, thyroid tests, urinalysis, and fecal examinations and more. If necessary, we can send more complex lab work, such as biopsies, to specialized laboratories for analysis.

Digital Radiology

Brookhollow offers digital radiographs to better diagnose and treat pets that are sick or injured. Digital radiography provides x-ray images without the use of conventional film. This produces high-quality images, while providing the lowest possible exposure of radiation to your pet. These images can be easily enlarged to enhance the smallest of details and assist veterinarians in making a diagnosis and prescribing treatment in a timely manner.

Digital Ultrasound

Digital ultrasound is an advanced technique which uses sound waves to create a real-time moving image of your pet's internal organs. Veterinarians find this technique particularly useful in diagnosing abdominal and cardiac problems. Ultrasounds can also be used to detect tumors, foreign bodies, and other illnesses. Brookhollow has invested in the latest veterinary ultrasound technology to provide quick and accurate diagnostics and treatment for your pet.
